Add a feedback board to WordPress
Add a Feedback button to every page of your WordPress site, or a voting board and public roadmap on a page of its own, with the free UserNote plugin from the WordPress plugin directory. No theme editing needed.
Before you start
Sign up free at getusernote.com, create a board, and copy your board ID from the board’s Install tab (it starts with ws_). Replace ws_YOUR_BOARD_ID in the snippets below with it.
With the UserNote plugin (recommended)
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin, search for “UserNote Feedback Board”, then click Install Now and Activate.
- Go to Settings → UserNote, paste your board ID and click Save Changes. The Feedback button appears on every page.
- For the board on a page of its own, add a Shortcode block with [usernote], or [usernote view="roadmap"] for your public roadmap.
Untick “Show a Feedback button on every page of the site” in the settings if you only want the board on its own page. The shortcodes work for any user role, unlike script tags in Custom HTML blocks.
Without the plugin: the board on its own page
Create a page (for example “Feedback” or “Roadmap”), add a Custom HTML block, and paste this:
<div id="feedback"></div>
<script src="https://getusernote.com/widget.js" data-workspace="ws_YOUR_BOARD_ID" data-mode="inline" data-target="#feedback" defer></script>Add data-view="roadmap" to the script tag to open on the roadmap. WordPress only keeps script tags in Custom HTML blocks for administrators and editors (on multisite, only super admins); for other roles it removes them.
No code at all: link to your hosted board
Every board has its own public page. Add a “Feedback” or “Roadmap” link to your menu (Appearance → Menus or the Site Editor’s Navigation block) pointing at it; it works on any plan, with nothing to install.
