Add a feedback board to Squarespace

Add a Feedback button to every page of your Squarespace site, or put a voting board and public roadmap on a page of its own. One snippet, about two minutes.

Before you start

Sign up free at getusernote.com, create a board, and copy your board ID from the board’s Install tab (it starts with ws_). Replace ws_YOUR_BOARD_ID in the snippets below with it.

Add a Feedback button to every page

  • In Squarespace, open Website → Pages, scroll to Custom code and click Code injection.
  • Paste this into the Footer box and save:
<script src="https://getusernote.com/widget.js" data-workspace="ws_YOUR_BOARD_ID" defer></script>

Code Injection is on the Core, Plus and Advanced plans (and the older Business and Commerce plans), not on Basic or Personal.

Put the board on its own page

Create a page (for example “Feedback” or “Roadmap”), add a Code block, make sure its display mode is HTML, and paste this:

<div id="feedback"></div>
<script src="https://getusernote.com/widget.js" data-workspace="ws_YOUR_BOARD_ID" data-mode="inline" data-target="#feedback" defer></script>

Add data-view="roadmap" to open on the roadmap. Code blocks that run scripts need the same plans as Code Injection.

No code at all: link to your hosted board

Every board has its own public page. Add a “Feedback” or “Roadmap” link to your navigation (add a link to the URL) pointing at it; it works on any plan, with nothing to install.

Next steps

  • Settings → Allowed websites: add your domain so nobody can embed your board elsewhere.
  • Settings → Accent color: match the button to your brand.
  • Turn on Require approval if you want to check ideas before they appear.
