Add a feedback board to Glide

Glide apps don’t run scripts from other sites, so UserNote goes in as your hosted board: inside a screen with a Web Embed, or behind a button that opens it. Your users suggest and vote on ideas without an account.

Before you start

Sign up free at getusernote.com, create a board, and copy your board ID from the board’s Install tab (it starts with ws_). Replace ws_YOUR_BOARD_ID in the snippets below with it.

Add a Feedback button

  • In the Glide editor, add a Button component (or a Link component) to a screen, such as your settings or about screen.
  • Set its action to Open link and paste your board’s address:
https://getusernote.com/b/ws_YOUR_BOARD_ID
https://getusernote.com/b/ws_YOUR_BOARD_ID?view=roadmap

Use the second address for a “Roadmap” button that opens on the roadmap.

Or show the board inside a screen (Web Embed)

  • Add a Web Embed component to a screen of its own, such as a “Feedback” tab.
  • Set its URL to your board’s address (above) and make it tall enough to scroll comfortably.

If you’ve set Allowed websites on your board, add your Glide app’s address there, or the board will say it isn’t enabled for this website.

Next steps

  • Settings → Allowed websites: add your domain so nobody can embed your board elsewhere.
  • Settings → Accent color: match the button to your brand.
  • Turn on Require approval if you want to check ideas before they appear.
